Is there a reason why the "New Contents" page has be be cleared completely? I don't have the time to go through each of the various topics in the forum to find new content and when they are all suddenly removed like that, I become really frustrated.

Is it possible to keep the New Contents down to, say, one or two pages without having to wipe everything out?

I'm not understanding what you mean? Mine aren't all cleared? Every time I click New Content it shows me the latest stuff. There are two settings possible to choose in your settings. Under My Settings, on the General settings tab at the bottom you will see a drop down where you can choose "Show me all content that I have not read" or "Show me all new content since my last visit". I have mine on "Show me all content that I have not read". You might try changing them back and forth and ssee if you like one better than the other.

Hi Deborah,

Another reason might be that you have accidentally clicked on one of the other tabs for new content.. such as members or calendar where it could easily be nothing new.

Deborah, if I have PM'd a member or added someone as a friend and click on new content, nothing shows up. In order for me to see it, I have to click on Havanese Talk, then on View New Content. I hope that helps.

No, that wasn't the issue. I know what you are talking about, having done it myself, and it is different from what I've had happen. I've had this problem from the beginning. It has always looked as if someone cleared the boards sometimes once a day, sometimes more than that.. Then, as others began to post messages again, they would repopulate the boards until they were all erased once again. It also was not because I read them all already.

Hopefully by changing the setting it will change. After making that change a whole bunch of posts came back once again so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks anyway.

Deborah, that's the only change I know to make, but I like mine set this way a lot more. I hope it works out better for you!

I have the same problem Deborah mentions. When I click "View New Content" it says "Sorry, no new content found." Drat! I'm using Google Chrome, which is what I always use, but I've never had this message show up. No time to putz around with my personal settings today, but maybe I will look into it tonight.

No one "clears the board" here, so it must be something you either clicked on or your settings. OR, it's simply a glitch that happens once in a blue moon. I accidentally cleared all my new content once, in the first weeks, and was so upset! It didn't take long for me to catch up then, though, and yet I'm still often way behind. Not a great Moderator, am I? LOL Ah well, hopefully this doesn't happen again for you, Deborah. Let us know, though!

Something has definitely changed - maybe in an update? I haven't gone into my settings to change anything since I started coming here, but when I visit now there are anywhere from 3-10 topics showing in the new content and that is all. It is possible it is due to browser compatibility, but I don't get over here enough to fiddle with it. It keeps it simple to see what is new though!

I still prefer clicking on "today's active post" at the bottom of the home page above who is online to clicking new content. It even has a drop down where you can choose different options to see even more.

Well, I made a change in the preferences and - poof!!! - it works perfectly! Never would I have thought to have made that change so I'm glad for the suggestion from Christy. Thanks Christy!
