Welcome to Havanese Talk, Vivian and Carol! Vivian, the avatar pic of Bonnie is adorable. How wonderful that she is now in a loving home instead of a commercial mill. For sure there will be challenges, but I hope you find some great tips and stories here to inspire you. Please share your own in the many sections of the forum.

Carol, I see two lovely Havs in your picture. Who is the other? I'm sorry to hear Nicky has an auto-immune disease. I'd love to hear more about it, if you care to share in the "Health Issues" section. Please let us know if any of you need help around the forum. :)

    Hello, Everyone~
It's so nice to be back with my hav friends! I was a part of the havanese forum when I had Toby. Some of you may remember Toby had severe separation anxiety and eventually went to live with his therapist and is now a therapy dog. He is doing great! I now have a 6 month old hav, Parker, who just came home with us yesterday. It's nice to be back in this group of amazing people!Attached File  furrbabies.jpg   6.8K   4 downloads

Hello everybody! My name is Mariana, I am from Romania, in US from 2006. I've been married for 3 years, I have 4 step children and a week ago I became a doggie mommy. My pup's name is Rex, he is a 9wks 5 days old havanese, white with brown spots. I am a first time doggie mom, so I wanna thank you for this wonderful website. I don't even know where to read first, I go from one topic to another. I love my little stinker and I hope I can be a good mommy and provide him with the best care!

I think a sable parti, he is mostly white with brown on his head, back and at his tail

    Hi,
My name is Jennifer. I live in MA with my husband, 3 kids (12, 9 and 5) and our 5 month old Havanese Bacon. We got Bacon about 2 months ago. We never had a dog before so it was a bt of an adjustment but things are really looking up now. he is settling in quite nicely and every day we love him more and more. Looking forward to talking with all of you!

Hello, I'm new to Havanese Talk and not sure where to put this initial hello to everyone so I apologise if it's in the wrong place.

I have a 9 month old havenese or "muppet dog" as my nephews call him. We got him (Henry) at 5 months when we went to see a breeder to look at puppies with a view to getting one from a future litter. But my husband took to Henry and Henry to him - they brought Henry out to show us different havs of different ages and how big they get etc. So we went home, thought about it, then rang up and asked if we could take Henry instead of waiting for a puppy.

We also have a burmese cat and the two of them are best buddies. (it took the cat a couple of days to come around but now he's delighted to have a playmate/wrestling opponent - they wrestle all the time, it's hilarious) That was one of our considerations before getting a dog, we wanted to make sure it wasn't a breed that had a high prey drive or terrier type chasing instinct and the havanese has turned out to be perfect.

There aren't many havanese around these parts yet (I think they've only been bringing them into australia for about the last 10 or 12 years) but we're delighted to have discovered them. Also very happy to have found this forum where I've found plenty of excellent advice already. So thank you very much to all of you who post and share.

Welcome Jennifer and "Little Bear" ! Yes, this is indeed the perfect place to introduce yourselves. :) I love the term "muppet dog" as some Havs really do like that! I often think our Sammy looks like a puppet, one from a Cdn. t.v. show from my childhood, Mr. Dressup. lol

I love the name Bacon. What made you decide on his name?

    Henry is gorgeous, LB!
I look forward to seeing more pictures of your fur babies. I hope you enjoy our forum!

    Hi Suzi,

Yes, the breeders are Phillip & Jenny Williams from Hashki Havenese, the website is: http://www.hashki.com/index.html
As i mentioned, we fell in love with Henry when we went out to see Phillip and find out about the breed and to look at Havanese puppies with a view to going on a waiting list...however we ended up going back the next day and taking home Henry the sweetest little chocolate 5 month old instead. Best decision we ever made! He has the loveliest nature, very calm for a havanese and is always the happiest dog in the park.

    Hi Havanese Owners,

My name is Jeri and I live in Los Angeles, California with my husband and three canines. Emma is our six year old Havanese sweetheart. She is a black and white with a very thick coat. She shares the house with two Briard siblings. All three are in full coat so a lot of grooming goes on here! Looking forward to my association with the group.

    Hello everyone!

It's lovely to have stumbled across this site where everyone so loves their Havenese pups and I've had a wonderful time looking over all the pictures and going aww...

I have a 7-month old havanese dog, Socks. That's his name because when I got him he had these four white sock-like paws :).. Over time, though it isn't as apparent.

He's adorable and I'm yet to meet anyone who hasn't completely loved him when they saw him... ;).

I am absolutely in love with him and he's the one consistent bright spot in my life!

So, it's almost summer in Delhi (where I live) and Socks' is due for his first haircut now... (Makes me nervous and excited!) It helped to see all the pictures posted here and I look forward to sharing what he looks like then!

    :)
