April, I'm glad you liked the Havanese Colours site. It's one of my favorites! I have two ex-pens I use here--one is 36 and one is 48 inches! You would be surprised how many Havanese can climb or jump, so if you can't find a 30 inch, go with a 36!

That's a bummer you didn't get to see the mother. When I was shopping for my dog I KNEW I would fall in love easily with any puppies I saw so I was careful to only look at parents first so I could choose a "look" I wanted for my dogs. Even though they could resemble the mother or the father or even a grandparent, both of my boys are perfect little replicas of their mamas so I got exactly what I was looking for in overall look and coat!

You know, I hadn't realized that Elite Havanese was a group of breeders until I checked out their site again. That sounds good!
I love the names you've come up with so far and it's too bad EmmyLou is sort of 'taken' because I love that one, esp. if just the thought of it makes you smile and laugh. You could wait until you have her for a few days or more, or do you have to have a name for the contract when you go pick her up?

I visited BC only once, and that was to stay with a friend in Port Alberni on Vancouver Island. You near there? it was such a beautiful place!

We have a puppy from the same litter as Amanda so we're also going through the puppy-proofing stage. All I can say is...have a LOT of chew toys! (NOT rawhide!) She likes fingers and toes best so we're trying to be very careful about having toys handy at all times.

Choosing the name is so much fun and you may find that the perfect name comes to you as you get to know her personality. It's just so exciting!!! Congrats to you and can't wait to see photos and hear the coming-home story.
