In addition to the 2 Havanese females, there are dozens of other purebred dogs that will be auctioned off Saturday, likely to be going to other puppy mills for forced breeding.
"These are two Havanese little girls that will be auctioned off at a dog auction in Wheaton, MO. Web site www.swkennelauction.com. If some one knows anyone who lives near there and can go and buy YES BUY to save them from going from one puppy mill to another please step up and help. All the money that is spent on showing and advertising our show dogs cant someone step up to the plate and pay for these these two girls. If they happen to be real sick it would be better to put them down than go to another puppy mill. This auction is on Sat. Please spread the word and lets work together and save these girls. If you can stomach it read the auction catalog. It is very sad!!!!!! I understand that rescue will not spend any money for buying Havanese in this type of situation but maybe if someone of us can get them they could go to loving homes. I dont know anything about they except what is listed in the catalog. The owners are Country pups,
Thanks for anything anyone can do.

Mary- you might consider contacting HALO. The policy of not buying auction dogs is because when you buy 2 Havanese, next week the auction has 4 available. Looking at the website, selling dogs is their business and they don't care if it is money to keep them out of mills, they just want to see the green

Hey, Amanda:
I found Mary's original post on one of the Havanese yahoo groups and posted on HALO's Facebook page. After reading your reply, I just sent an e-mail to the HALO website.
The thought of these dogs being sold to a puppy mill is very disquieting. I hope that some wonderful people will open their homes to them.
Thanks.

Ugh, I hate these auctions! I see proven good mothers and easy to collect and parents are grand champions... anything to make the sale to another BYB! I don't which I feel sorrier for, the 6 year old who has lived a life of slavery being bred back to back until there's nothing left to give or the two year old who has a very dim looking future.

Yep... just like why you don't "rescue" a puppy from a pet store...

I just quickly browsed the catalog. It's indeed sad. One of the dogs (can't remember which breed now) was recently bred and possibly pregnant.
How do these people sleep at night? Beyond wrong!

Can't stand to see this........ My head believes what Kat believes, but I know that if I were close to this, I'd remortgage my house to get them all out. Makes no sense, in the end, but it is a cruel business to try and ignore and do nothing about.

I wrote to Halo the other day, and a representative from HALO (Havanese Angel League Organization - http://www.rescuedhavanese.org) said in reply,
"We are well aware of the SW Kennel auctions and receive their flyers. We do appreciate your concern but please be aware that we always know what Havanese are being sold there."
Hopefully, HALO will be able to get these two dogs into their wonderful foster care and away from any puppy millers.
