Hello,

I'm happy to have found this forum. I have been reading everything I can find about Havanese. The more I read, the more it sounds like the ideal furkid for me. I currently do not have a dog, but I help care for my sister's beautiful Golden Retriever, Haley. Haley is such a sweetheart for looking after my mom and sister when I'm not there. Without her, I don't think they would get any exercise. She is adept at playing Frisbee. The only time it hits the ground is when I throw it badly.

It sounds like that the San Francisco bay area has an active Havanese owner community. I've found the websites for the San Francisco Havanese Group, The Gold Country Havanese Club and the Havanese Club of NorCal. This forum will be a great resource for me to learn more about the breed and help me find my puppy sometime next year.

Gary- Welcome. I have seen a lot of Golden people go into Havanese. A lot of Havanese have that same every dog is my best friend personality! I was able to visit SF and went to the Havanese on the beach walk- make sure you go to one of those too!

Welcome to Havanese Talk, Gary! It's great that you're doing your research before getting your dog.
